The Irish Era Part Six – 2

In part 2 of the History of Irish Commercial Radio, The Irish Era Part 6b, we cover Radio NOVA, which was shut down using nefarious back door actions via a journalists strike in Dublin. Using all the video I shot on VHS we cover its history.
Then back to the Zee 103 station at Omeath,(Carlingford Lough near where Radio Caroline was built) and Jeff Camblin, actually on air. Jeff got a call while I was there, as having created the station with Jeff, after Kiss Portadown was raided (see Era 6a) almost 2 years went by before the staion actually aired. The Late Frank McCarthy had banned me from the station! But guess what he wanted a copy of this only ever video taped in it. Frank died after refurbishing the Radio NOVA 3KW FM CSI transmitter when in 1996 Lawrance John asked me to restart KISS FM 103.7 (Era 7).
This is section is dedicated to Jeff Camblin who is now terminally ill. We close with a vital broadcast of B-96, Belfast Pirate Radio, broadcasting from my flat in central Belfast, where the famous Terri Hooley used to trabnsmit his Reggae show across Belfast. Jeff, my close friend Stefanie Callister, and I were the Co-Creators for the Megawatt border blaster KISS FM Monaghan town, which cracked Matrix, and initited the Peace Process in Ireland, in 1988. KISS is covered in Era 7, a final (?) Irish Era. Its over 4 hours long and featrures closedown in Dec 1988, and Atlantic 252 (the WBBM-FM Connection, …….) Shot and edited on VHS. Some video is well over modulated, and will be corrected in due course. As Jeff is dieing we upload this now.(April 2012)

This contains 3rd party content. It is an historical documentary for historical and educational purposes, and part of a series called “The Irish Era”. Edited on VHS at Demesne House,Lurgan
