The Irish Era Of Pirate Radio is a fly on the wall documentary of the tremendously exciting, and creative period in english language broadcasting, which evolved in Ireland from 1977 until 1988. With a Post 1988 section, partly covered in Bases 4 Part 2, Energy106.6
In this first part, we focus on the very early development with Radio Dublin, Raids, public outcry and the split. Then start of BIG D Radio in April 1978, and mentioning ARD 257(Alternative Radio for Dublin).
Recorded at the time Radio NOVA was emerging. Nova and Sunshine are dealt with, in Part 2, ARD 257, in Part 4.
From a 7 part series edited on VHS, from 1982, until the present day.
(BASES 4 Part 2 included the last Super Pirate Energy 106, where the ET “Human Plan” connection is revealed.)
Series produced by Miles Johnston, who also DJ’d on BIG D Radio. Edited on a VHS in late 1982. Re-released now, as a tribute to Absent Friends.

Its being BANNED Already
All I can say is that the ITS, and powers that got these stations going, were raided, and taken off the air… EVERY Government and Agency that attacked these stations suffered for it.

This is a UFO Investigation, as it said in the opening titles, we shall see if it still holds fire 20 years later.
Music from Simple Minds New Gold Dream, Lene Lovich,& Joan Armatrading.
