Its 60 years since Radio Caroline sailed into free Radio, with the Marine Offences Act 1967. Susan Charles is one of the 80s generation who broadcast from the ship, silenced by Mrs Thatcher in 1989. It continues to this day, on line, on MW, and still uses the studio on the ship for special events, such as this 60th Anniversary.
Susan came all the way from Vancouver, was also on Miles Johnston’s Kiss-FM103.7AM1008 in Ireland.(1987-Dec 1988)
Many good people have passed on since then. Susan joined Miles on a fast trip around Ireland and the UK, seeing good friends, and being on the ship Ross Revenge for a 3 day 80s weekend.
